Thy Kingdom Come & The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

Having moved the week of Prayer for Christian Unity to the alternative date which runs up to Pentecost this now coincided with the Archbishops’ call to prayer, Thy Kingdom Come. This is a call to prayer for churches, individuals, and families to pray.

The aim is simple. Between 25th May and 4th June, communities, and churches around the world as asked to pray that our friends, families, and neighbours come to know Jesus Christ. In partnership with Churches of all denominations across our town there are opportunities to come together to prayer in a variety of ways:

Wed 24th May, 8pm prayer – Baptist Church

Thur 25th May, 8am prayer breakfast at Ecumenical Centre

Fri 26th May Morning Prayer at St Stephens

Sat 27th May Prayer Scatter starting from St Stephens;

Sun 28th May, Church Prayer Swap

Mon 29th May, 8am prayer meeting at Oasis Christian Centre

Tue 30th May, 7pm Prayer 4 Redditch at St Stephen’s

Fri 2nd to Sat 3rd June 24 hour prayer.

Pentecost (Sun 4th June), 4pm picnic at Forge Mill / Abbey visitor centre, to coincide with 4pm pilgrimage from Our Lady of Mt Carmel to Bordesley Abbey, leading to 5pm joint Pentecost praise/worship/reflection service in Abbey ruins.

We are hoping to observe morning prayer each weekday at 9.00am and evening prayer each weekday at 5pm. Friday’s and the bank holiday (25th) may present some challenges. Watch this space.
